DICHOTOMY

In botany the dichotomy is a type of branching in which the apex gives rise to two secondary axes or branches which in turn can give rise to two other branches and so on.
You can have one equal dichotomy if the two branches have approximately the same length;unequal dichotomy if the two branches have different lengths.
